Gone are the days when it was acceptable to lead by fear, control or your position made you a Leader. It doesn’t.

Your position might give you authority to make decisions but it does certainly not make you a Leader, let alone a Conscious Leader.

Leadership is measured in the hearts of those that follow. Leadership starts by being a good human.

But it’s more. It’s about inspiring others, providing a safe space for them to grow, make mistakes. It’s about encouraging those around you to want to do better. It’s about truly being aware of how your behaviour impacts the environment and people around you and being responsible for it.

It’s about showing empathy and compassion. Keeping an open mind. Not jumping to conclusions or making judgements but merely observations.

Sounds easy right? It’s surely not for the faint hearted, but the world needs more of them. We need more leaders that care, genuinely care. More leaders prepared to empower each other, support each to make a difference. We all have an opportunity to leave a legacy we’re proud of. Who wouldn’t want that?
