THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FULL MOON AND A NEW MOON

If you’re a moon lover like me and could sit and just watch her in all her glory when she peaks at her fullness once a month, read on.

Did you know it takes a moon 27.5 days to move through the entire zodiac. It stays in each sign approximately 2.5 days. For any sceptics out there who haven’t yet discovered her magic, think about how why on the full moons do we have king tides? Explain that!

So what’s the difference between a full moon and a new moon?

A new moon is the beginning of a new lunar cycle. It is when the moon is between the earth and the sun. You might wonder why sometimes you have a little extra energy on a new moon, feel a little more inspired or have a spring in your step, it’s no co-incidence.

The full moon, however…well that’s where it gets a little some would say full…Yes again, no co-incidence that the king tides occur on a full moon, emergency departments are full and if you have kids, well guarantee they will be pushing your buttons and have an abundance of energy they have no idea what to do with. Always a great time to take the kids to the beach before, during and after a full moon, the sand and salt water is a great way to ground their fullness and help them release some of that energy.

The full moon is also an opportunity for you to check in with yourself. Ask yourself how the month has been going, what’s working, what’s not? What needs to change. Granted life can be pretty hectic some times, so it’s a good idea to set calendar reminders a few days out of a new moon as I guarantee a lot will make sense, you’ll be feeling the fullness before you realise it’s here.
